Unterföhring, June 29, 2022: The winning company of the SevenVentures Pitch Day 2022 has been determined. Bears with Benefits convinced the jury and secured the lucrative prize: video advertising worth EUR 3 million and the budget for its own TV spot. The company, founded by Laurence Saunier and Marlena Hien, sells nutritional supplements in the form of gummy bears to female target groups and plans to use the budget to further expand its brand awareness in the German-speaking region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).


In addition to the scalable and high-margin business model and the broad target group, women of all ages, the successful and confident pitch by co-founder Laurence Saunier and Astrid Linser, Head of E-Commerce, convinced the Bears with Benefits jury. The company wants to use the prize from SevenVentures, the investment arm of ProSiebenSat.1, to expand its position in existing sales markets and thus also internationalize its successful business model in the long term.


Laurence Saunier, co-Founder Bears with Benefits: "We are incredibly excited that we are now getting even more reach for our FemHealth platform through the medium of TV. We offer women different beauty vitamin complexes for every day and every beauty need. In doing so, we combine pharmaceutical research with naturalness and a positive and sustainable attitude towards life. The advertising power of ProSiebenSat.1 will also help us to further de-taboo topics such as menstruation and menopause with our products. We are already very excited about the moment when the first Bears with Benefits TV spot goes on air."

We saw four completely different and yet in their own way outstanding presentations. Four ambitious growth companies presented their business models in two-minute short presentations in the final of this year's edition of the SevenVentures Pitch Day under the motto "Boost Your Brand". The jury consisting of TalentRocket founder Magdalena Oehl, SevenVentures CCO Florian Weber and angel investor and serial founder Johann "Hansi" Hansmann ultimately decided in favour of Bears with Benefits with a score of 2:1.


In the first semi-final, the animal health platform Dr. SAM and the care app Nui Care fought a duel. Dr. SAM was presented to the audience by Katharina Bansemer, who stood in for founder Dr. Jan Holzapfel. As a holistic digital platform for pet health, Dr. SAM reduces vet:in visits via telemedicine, from prevention and treatment to aftercare. Competing against them was the start-up Nui Care by Markus C. Müller and Christian Ehl. Both have been developing "Nui - Die PflegeleichtAPP" since 2019 with the aim of supporting family caregivers and improving the well-being of those in need of care. With the help of Nui, all those involved in care can organize everyday care effectively, as Christian Ehl explained to the audience in his pitch. In the end, Dr. SAM secured the victory and entered the final.


In the second duel, Bears with Benefits prevailed. One of the two founders and CEO of happybrush, Stefan Walter, and Kay Bukmaier, Head of Sales at the oral care tech start-up from Munich, were pitted against each other. They presented their approach to modern and sustainable oral hygiene and introduced the world's first sonic toothbrush with a housing made of 100 percent recycled materials, along with other products from their portfolio.


The SevenVentures PitchDay is hosted by SevenVentures, part of the Commerce & Ventures segment of ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE. According to Forbes Magazine, the start-up competition is one of the most important in the world. In the eleven-year history of the event, over EUR 30 million in media funding has already been made available to promising start-ups. Past winners include SIRPLUS (2021), ArtNight (2019), Selfapy (2018) and Hafervoll (2017).


The SevenVentures Pitch Day took place for the second time in cooperation with the 4GAMECHANGERS festival of the Austrian ProSiebenSat.1 PULS 4 Group, this year for the first time as a live event within the digital festival.
