Unterföhring, June 30, 2021. The finalists for the SevenVentures Pitch Day 2021 have been selected: four ambitious start-ups from the fields of safety, packaging, food and waste reduction will compete in front of a prominent jury on July 6 to secure the lucrative prize of video advertising worth EUR 3 million and additional budget for their own TV commercial. Forbes Magazine calls the SevenVentures Pitch Day one of the most important start-up competitions worldwide. The event is organised by SevenVentures,, the investment arm of ProSiebenSat.1 and the world's leading TV media investor, which has already provided over 30 million euros in media funding for start-ups in the event's ten-year history.
50 aspiring start-ups and passionate founders, mainly from the German-speaking region, submitted their applications this year. These finalists have prevailed:
· The D2C brand KoRo is rethinking retail by focusing on short, trade routes, efficient process flows and bulk packaging, and making high-quality food accessible at fair prices.
· SafeNow offers safety in threatening situations. The app automatically identifies, displays and alerts helpers in the vicinity to provide fast and targeted assistance.
· The Berlin-based company SIRPLUS saves perfectly edible, surplus or expired food from the bin and offers it to environmentally conscious customers at a discounted price.
· VYTAL operates Europe's largest digital, deposit-free reusable system for takeaway and delivery meals. The goal is to make reusable fun and convenient.
Florian Weber, Member of the Executive Board and Chief Commercial Officer, SevenVentures: "We are overwhelmed by the numerous and creative applications. This once again underlines the relevance that our SevenVentures Pitch Day has in the start-up scene. We are excited to see which team we will help to achieve a breakthrough in the German-speaking market with our media power. One thing is already certain: it will be a company with great vision and social added value."
To win, the participating companies must convince a jury of proven industry experts in a live pitch: In addition to TV presenter and start-up investor Joko Winterscheidt, Florian Weber, Chief Commercial Officer of SevenVentures, and Kathrin Nusser, Chief Financial Officer of the online beauty shop flaconi, will decide on the quality of the presentations and award the most convincing business model. The programme will be broadcast live from the Galileo studio of ProSiebenSat.1 and hosted by ProSieben presenter Steven Gätjen.
The SevenVentures Pitch Day 2021 will take place for the first time in cooperation with the 4GAMECHANGERS Festival of the Austrian ProSiebenSat.1 PULS 4 Group. Thanks to its support, interested start-up fans worldwide can follow the competition live on July 6 from 2 p.m. at the following link: 4gamechangers.io. For those who missed it, PULS 24 will show the final again on Friday July 9 at 7 p.m.
